The texts say, unless you are as eager for nirvanic bliss as a man whose hair is on fire would be for a pond in which to dive, don't start, it's too tough. --Joseph Campbell
Ditto for love. Wait, it's all love. --the psycho therapist
The laundry is done and my nails are polished. John and I have talked late into the night and it's time to rest. I sit on the bed and something catches my eye. There, next to the television, a folder has fallen and papers litter the floor. I walk over to tidy up and realize it's been years since I've looked at what's inside. Curious, I turn over the first page and read what struck me like lightning long ago and now is exactly what I most need to remember:
We must yield to what is coming,
we are in a free fall into the future.
We don't know where we're going,
things are changing so fast.
Always, when you're going through a long tunnel,
anxiety comes along.
All you have to do to transform your hell into a paradise
is to turn your fall into a voluntary act.
A very interesting shift in perspective
and that's all it is:
joyful participation in the sorrows
and everything changes.
--Joseph Campbell, Sukhavati, Place of Bliss
Oh that man.
All you have to do to transform your hell into a paradise is to turn your fall into a voluntary act.
Perfect!
Love it!

During hard times, attitude is everything, and a little faith goes a long ways.
Have a peaceful Sunday.
:)
(You made Codeman smile, too).
Schmeebs,
Yeah.
_______
Marmy,
Yeah.
_______
yFooly,
Yeah.
(Pass to Codeman: I told you I think it's beautiful!)
_______
Yeah. I don't always get that just right, but I always try. I *know* it, but sometimes it's hard to remember.
Dotcalm
Probably just a coincidence that you happen to see that file at that exact moment, huh?
Yeah, right.
:)
Can you say:
S-Y-N-C-H-R-O-N-I-C-I-T-Y
?
Great quote, though! I'm going to have to remember that one.
Sophmomocles,
I *know* it, but sometimes it's hard to remember.
Perfectly said. Ditto to the bazillionth degree.
____________
Jazz,
Yup, no coincidences. Not in this Tao. The trick is learning to speak the language, ya know?
By the way, how do you come to this bloggy thing o'mine? In other words, who referred you? Curious.
__________
Got an off-site way for me to follow-up with to that one, Doc?
Not that it's all that secretive, or anything... But... Well, you know...
;)
"with to" ?
Geeze... Must be a Monday.
Ha!
I love going through long tunnels. No anxiety but a certain excitement of coming out on the other side. Kinda like a magic portal; who knows what will be there.
p&g
I kid you not: word verification: wtfbub
Jazz,
Not that it's all that secretive, or anything... But... Well, you know...
Well, now, no, I don't know. And, to be frank, secrets aren't my thang. Iffin there ain't nuthin to hide, well, c'mon then, where you from?
___________
OShark,
Really? You're a free-fallin' portal man? Hrmm. Well, it is good to see you again.
*LOVE* dat word verif. Peace and garlic, indeed!
(smiling at you, too)

OK, Doc... You win (being that it is YOUR blog, I would imagine that's par for the course, though, right?).
:)
It's funny how things just sort of... happen, isn't it? I'm a HUGE music lover and one of the first things I do each morning when I get to the office is go to my online buddy's blog: IckMusic. He's got phenomenal taste and always posts interesting things (about bands and artists who I love as well as folks I haven't heard of yet). Of course, no one can bat 1000 with other people all the time, but most of what Pete posts (samples included, always!), is fantastic. I would highly recommend the site to all of your friends, too.
;)
So... Anyway, a month or two ago, one of Pete's friends (oh, BTW, Pete is the Ick in IckMusic ~ don't ask) posted this incredibly intriguing item... The 7 Truths . My jaw dropped to the floor when I read it because it backed up so much of what I've come to believe during my journey here. It was fantastic!
So much so, in fact, that I simply couldn't let it go. I had to contact that person to let her know how much it touched me and to see if I could learn a bit more about her. Her name is Michelle (or Shell, as she seems to prefer) and her blog is called Sylph*Nascency. I really dig the things she talks about and the solid group of friends that surround her. She's putting a lot of positive energy into this world. Not just with her words, but also with her actions (which is something I really admire).
On her site, there is a list of links to other blogs... And one of them just seemed to jump out at me (any guesses which one that might have been? Anyone?). :)
Yeah... That would have been samsara asylum, of course. I don't know why, but sometimes it's better to not even bother asking 'why' and just go with it because it feels 'right'.
I think I was first sucked in by the wonderful pictures you post (I'm very visual), but as I started to read what you write, I started to feel like I knew you, Doc. I still do.
And... The more I read what YOUR community said, the more I felt that I wanted to somehow be a part of it. Not that I ever wanted to butt in on anyone else's party; It just seems like a cool place to hang. Smart people with witty, insightful comments... A little cussing, some sarcastic remarks... This is my kinda' place.
So... There you have it. Like I said, it's no big secret; Just a long, somewhat convoluted story about how I found you on this crazy thing we call the internet.
Now you know.
:)
Jazz,
Hey, thank you. Very cool and in-depth answer. I appreciate all you shared. Shell (whom I refer to as "Pixie Lee") is a longtime cyber friend. She does have a nice community, doesn't she?
Glad you like the feel of the folks here, too. There is some overlap and the more the merrier.
There are no "accidents".
Thanks again.
